I. Standards and Regulations
   A. Standards of cleanliness shall be NADCA Standard of Mechanical Cleaning of
       Non-Porous Air Conveyance System Components ACR 2002.
   B. All service openings shall comply with NADCA Standard 05 – 1997.
   C. Standards and regulations established by SMACNA, EPE and NAIMA shall be strictly        adhered to.
 

II. Scope of Work
   A. All aspects relating to the Air Conveyance System will be addressed.
       1. Any interior surface of the building's air distribution system for conditioned spaces            and /or occupied zones. This includes the entire air moving system from the points            that the air enters the system to the points where the air is discharged from the            system.
       2. Components of the system to be cleaned.

 
  Return vents and corresponding duct work
  Blower compartment and blower
  All supply registers will be cleaned
  All supply ducts
  All coils, drain pans and condensate pans shall be inspected and pneumatically
    cleaned
  Filter housing
  Filters changed if provided
  All turning vanes
  All dampers
   B. Access holes
       1. All access holes required during the cleaning shall be placed in discreet areas. We            will utilize service openings when possible.
       2. Service openings shall be closed in an airtight manner.
       3. Metals used in the fabrication and installation of service openings shall be resistant to            atmospheric corrosion and shall not be used in combinations that will cause galvanic            action which might deteriorate any part of the system formed from such material.
       4. Metal panels used for closing service openings shall be mechanically fastened.
       5. Metal panels used for closing service openings shall be sealed by gasketing,            masticking, or taping.
       6. All materials used for closing service openings shall be classified as having a flame            spread rating of not over 25 without evidence of continued progressive combustion            and a smoke-developed rating of not over 50, as determined by IUL 181.
   
   C. Cleaning Method
       1. Negative air pressure duct cleaning vacuum for extraction, filtration and collection.
       2. Direct contact cleaning.

       3. All areas where equipment is located and in operation will be covered with tarping            material for containment purposes.
       4. The HVAC system shall be under constant negative pressure, as a containment            strategy, at all times cleaning is transpiring. These measures insure that debris will            not be released into occupied spaces.
       5. When Power Vacuum is utilized, all debris will exit directly to the exterior containment            modular, or interior HEPA-filter containment modular.
       6. All reasonable measures will be taken to control offensive odors and/or mist vapors            during the cleaning process.
       7. Sanitizing: All non-porous surfaces of the air conveyance system are sanitized to            reduce the presence of residual mold and bacteria.
       8. Once the entire air conveyance system is prepared, the power vacuums will be in            force. While the system is under optimum vacuum's, the duct whip shall be drawn            throughout the entire network, breaking up all airborne particle matter as well as an            assortment of other contaminants, they will be vacuumed out without a trace of cross            contamination in the occupied space.
       9. Resin Encapsulants can be applied to mildly contaminated, or mildly deteriorated            sections of interior insulation.
